Okay - we've been a bit quiet the last couple of days - fitting brake lines etc isn't very exciting! Here's a picture of the painited body - will give you an idea of what it will look like! It is about to have the white upholstery fitted by Mead Auto Trimmers and Upholstery in Matamata and then re-fitted to the chassis - should be early next week. We're also fitting the kool exhaust given to us a by BDA! Pictures later today......

How much are you channeling this baby? judging by the slots cut in the side for the rear axle it looks quite a lot.

Day 14: Jason bolts in the new starter motor supplied by Pioneer Auto Parts. Sam fits the new headers loaned to us BDA! Excellent stuff......... Don't they look great! can't wait to hear it running. The boys want to uncap them straight away....... A shot from the front angle. Notice the alternator has been installed and also the brakes bled today. The manifold is just sitting in place and the 3 "helmets" supplied by GMT - we're waiting on the carbs & linkages.......

Day 15: 17 Sleeps to go! And the car looks like this.... I know how you feel BDA! Today the radiator and surround went on and a few other little jobs such as new spark plugs, chrome oil filter cover etc etc. Tomorrow the stainless grill will go in - we have had to do a wee bit of surgery - but it will still look okay. The body is only a matter of days away - YIPPEE!!!!

Ha! Bo - you've been busted! How come you wagged school today? ? I think that is the first time you've missed the class? Hopefully Craig will be there tomorrow with the manifold and carbs. I'll be getting radiator hoses from Repco in the morning. Which means we won't be too far away from starting this sucker up! BDA - give Jody Armstrong a call about the grill. His number is 0274466887 and he can arrange it for you. He is a bit of a Porshe fan, but apart from that he isn't too bad. Start off by talking about Porshces and you'll be right.... Cheers Noddy

Day 17: Craig from Oceanside Street Rods arrived with the mainfold and triple carb setup - and it looks fantastic! The boys got a lesson on how to install a manifold and time an engine. The radiator hoses went on and lots of other engine parts. So the motor is nearly ready to fire - Scott will cut the Taylor ignition leads to size and we will plumb up the fuel block and lines. Until next week!

Newsflash!
We picked up the finished body from Meads Upholstery in Matamata yesterday and it is now at the school. We are planning to have a solid day working on it tomorrow which should see it just about finished........... stay tuned!
Unfortunately I have a family member seriously ill in Hospital and I am having to spend a lot of time in Hamilton, so things are a little crazy around here at the moment........

looks 'kin awesome. NIIIICE colour scheme!! I might want to give you one word of advice though. I see you have the ends of the headers uncorked and I did the same thing not long after I bought my car, but the first time I got it hot with them uncorked the exhaust gases burnt a dinner plate sized hole in the paint on the left hand side of the car. Maybe if you are going to run em uncorked you really might want to fabricate some turnouts for the ends. Just a suggestion though. This happened when the car was red and I drove round for a couple of months with the paint burnt off. I then pulled it off the road for a rebuild and that is why my car is now green. ;D BDA PS if you take the goldilocks out of the tailpipe it will run almost as loud as it does when its uncorked. And any V8 sounds 'kin great with no mufflers. Make sure you put the tailpipe extensions back on though otherwise you get horrible fuming under the car and that will upset your belly.
