The Beach Hop are excited to announce that Slim Jim Phantom, legendary drummer of USA based band the Stray Cats, will be our special guest at this years festival. Negotiations have taken place over the past month and it has been made possible through some generous sponsorship from Construct Management Pacific, and help from House of Travel. We first met Slim Jim in Wellington last November and within 5 minutes of talking with him he declared "Hey - I'm coming back to Hop!". And true to his word, he is.......
At the Beach Hop Slim Jim will be a out and about and a guest judge at the Retro Beauty Show & Hop Idol. It is planned that he will perform a few Stray Cats songs with Australian band the “Retro Rockets” through out the festival.
Slim Jim is a car fan - his pride and joy is a 61 Corvette - he is just the 2nd owner. He has also just finished the restoration of a 71 Dodge Demon which was a father/son project. More details on his cars to follow.

How kool is that Jumboz!
The first run I took my Bucket on was Riverside's to Katikati. Slept in it on Friday night as the tent was full of drunken snorers... 2nd night I met a good looking lady and well..... T buckets are pretty small for 2 to sleep in!
Oh - and she is now my wife!

I can't remember if you said the ultimate pass ones had ladies t-shirts as well as mens ones...If you have ladies ones I need a size 'large'. If they are men's ones I need a size 'medium'. Hope that they are ladies fit as the others just turn into nightshirts for me!!

Over the years we have worked very hard on the main stream media to include the event and it is great to see that it is paying off - I think North & South have something coming up as well. Now we just have to get a couple of NZ car based publications to print something postive about the festival for a change instead of snide remarks Noddy

At the time we did the Ultimate Pass entry forms we hadn't confirmed the T shirt supplier so unfortunately we only have unisex style shirts.... So it might have to be another nightee for you! I can't believe we're talking about your bed wear here... ;D But we will have them next year! It is a weird industry... A womens shirt, which has less material, costs more to buy. Can you get your head around that? But I do understand that the have more latex in them so they can Sttrrreeeeetchhhh over certain bumps in the female anatomy... opps - here we go again! Better go before I get too excited... Noddy
