Pete - feel free to chat with anyone that can help us get the Fesitval on air! If you can make this happen - I'll shout you a beer or 10. In a bar of course - liquor ban at the Beach Hop of course.... Cheers, Noddy

I must say I'm a bit embarrassed by Jude's decision and since I voiced my opinion I haven't heard from that section of the family. Funny that. I still say that her decision is in direct contravention of the TVNZ charter because if, as she states, the Hop would appeal to a 'niche audience' then it qualifies for screening. I doubt that you'll find anyone at TVNZwho actually understands what the Hop is about; they're too busy filming dumb-arse reality shows and pandering to the politically correct. They've paid us their lip service the rest will go in the shredder. Nothing will happen about it though, coz too few will do too little. It's the kiwi way. C'mon, prove me wrong!

The BeachHop doesn't fit in with current multi-cultural NZ and that's why TVNZ aren't interested. This event is more of an Aussie thing...white Australia..like Wintersun on the Gold Coast,TV in Australia cover this event, channel 9 even has live reporters covering different events on the Today show. TVNZ is telling you that the beach Hop is not part of the New NZ and multi-cultural NZ is the New Correct NZ.Nostalgia, part of the way it used to be or European NZ don't count anymore so accept it,if you don't like it move to Australia. So a program on BeachHop might show thousands of Real kiwis having a Great trouble free Good fun time with cool cars and real music, but you have No idea what it takes to get a Show on TV these days. If you want a guaranteed TVNZ screening,do this, Cancel the surf comp and have an Asian dragon boat and beach festival. Cancel your bands and have multi-cultural music and dance performances instead..
Hop Idol..Nah... Pray to the prophet M in the park instead.
This is the Beach Hop TVNZ would love to screen, and the change TV3 mean, you could also have a few cars and a rockabilly band down one end if you want.... OK Then!

Scorpian... If Maori language programmes featuring whinging activists complaining about the so-called treaty are able to be aired on TVNZ then even if TVNZ DOES think (incorrectly) that the BH is "whites only" why the bloomin' blazes won't they screen it anyhow? I for one am fed up with taxpayer dollars going into a junket tv network and especially thru a government not fit to lead a bunch of snails led by a thing not fit to use airspace!!!!!!!!!
It's not about whether they actually make a programme... it's (for me) the shear unadultirated arrogance, hipocracy, uneducated, foolish attitude that the excuses for moronic twits at TVNZ have for this event!!!!
OK.... got that off me chest!

I agree with all, I am sick to death of all these reality treasure island bull and house/garden makeovers. Why the hell can't they show cool stuff like the beach hop and the thousands that turn up to support it and have loads of fun. The beach hop is a true blue NZ era re-captivated, although I am a little young to remember the early 50's and 60's.
