We want to thank Peter Russek of "Out There Films" for the production of the Beach Hop 2006 DVD. We think they did a great job getting the job done so quickly and really captured the spirit of the Festival.
We know we can NEVER please every one - but tell us what you think!
Cheers,
Noddy

Hi everyone, We would just like to say how much my wife and i had enjoyed past years hops but sadly i missed 2006 as we had been getting ready for the hop with My nice clean car, wifey, esky, cold ones and all that was needed for one really good hop! when one day before we left for the 06 hop i had a lapse in mind and time or something and i handed my car keys to my loving son who is 19 and is just as much into cars as my wife i are. i had asked him to take the car down the road "2km" and come back so i could get some good video and photos of her before we left but as i watched in some sort of shock and horror the car with my son in it turned left and out of eyesight for a few Min's ...when i heard the last thing a man wants to hear and thats his car going flat out on a back road for what sounded like thunder from down under, going flat out with my 19yr old son driving and me the owner of the car not at the wheel, and then it happend "BANG" And now we don't have the nice red 1964 car my wife and i loved and poured hard earned cash and sweat into any more, a bill for power pole, tow & recovery fee, no son at home and a lot of scarp metal in the back yard looking a sad state of affairs. No rebuild this time and this car has been wiped off the face of the earth for ever. we will be there this year, and guys and girls out there you know what!! we are still going to have the time of our life for 3 days and nights of cruising, dancing, sidewalk chair watching with a coldy, chatting and the likes. we will be there with all you fine folk. cheers Dino p.s son did make it.

Oh man - that is a terrible story. Kind of things nightmares are made of...
Will be great to see you at BH07 though - I'm sure you will make up for it and someone will take you for a cruise....
Just 1 thing - remember there is a Liquorban in Whangamata during the festival now. There are plenty of cafe's & bars you can have a coldy in and soak up the atmosphere...
Have fun!
Noddy

I just don't think that we'd even want to go to the beach hop if we didn't have our car! If you need a cruise at any time during the 07 event just give us a buzz. (Noddy knows us anyway!) We own a yellow and white 55 chevy (THE HOP) number plate and we've also got an 84 chevy pick up (THE H0P) number plate that we're bringing down so drop us a line. So sorry to hear about your baby from NOISEGIRL (NOISEBOYS wife!)
